Analysis of ancient architecture capacities with Cultural heritage tourism approach, Case study: Khorshid Palace in Kalat –e- Naderi

Abstract

There is an old relation between archeology and tourism. This relation in modern approaches is called “heritage tourism”. Heritage tourism is one of the important branches of this industry and human monuments are considered as important destinations. Present research that is practical and descriptive-analytical, done to analyze indexes and capacities of heritage tourism in Khorshid palace in Kalat –e- Naderi. Khorshid palace is one of important monument of Naderi period in great Khorasan with unique Structure and decoration, which has special capabilities in attracting tourists and becoming the cultural heritage destination. Data provided by Documentary Studies and field studies. The document studies of research include review of literature for drawing theoretical basis, designing criterions for making questionnaire and final analyze of data. The field studies of the research included the collection of experts' opinions with Delphi technique. In questionnaire criterions and indexes focus on structural facets and identity of palace that are most important features of architecture and tourist attraction. Validity of questionnaire admitted by the expertise and stability of questionnaire confirmed by calculating Cronbach’s Alpha with number of .873 that shows high stability of questionnaire. Information processed by the SPSS 22 software. Regard to nature of data and aim of research (analyzing cultural and heritage capacity of architecture in the domain of Heritage Tourism, analyzing impact of architecture in development of heritage tourism and clarifying impact index of each criterion) one sample T-test, Friedman test and Linear Regression used in analyze. The results of this research shows that Khorshid palace is one of the best and unique monuments of ancient architecture in Kalat –e- Naderi for having elements of traditional architecture and local identity based to become a unique destination of heritage tourism. Tourism capacities of this palace divided in two groups, visual and perceptual attractions. Variety of attractions in decorating technique, motifs and structure of these buildings with high Impact on attention of tourists considered as visual, visible and tangible components. Cultural identity in existence and structure of building makes a sense of being affected by the place in the tourist. These are perceptual components. Statistics shows that both groups of criterions and indexes own very good desired condition in developing heritage tourism. Also research results shows that structural, visual and tangible capacities has the most impact on attracting visitors attention and increasing value of tourism destination in Khorshid Palace
